Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Brand Protection Tools is operated by 2danet LLC, based in Oregon, United States. This Privacy Policy explains how Brand Protection Tools handles information when you visit brandprotectiontools.net or contact us. For privacy questions, email [email protected].

Information we collect

You do not need an account to browse Brand Protection Tools. We do not currently offer visitor submission forms or newsletter signups.

  • Email correspondence: If you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message and any attachments. We use that information to respond, investigate corrections and handle your request.
  • Website usage: Google Analytics measures page views, scrolling and link interactions, including clicks on our Bustem referral link. It can process page URLs, referrers, browser and device information and cookie identifiers. These measurements help us understand which content visitors use.
  • Technical information: Our hosting provider, FastComet, and any additional security services can process connection information needed to deliver and protect the website. Technical information can include IP addresses, requested URLs, request times and browser information.

Please do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information when contacting us. Include only the information needed to explain your question or correction.

Website platform and hosting

Brand Protection Tools is built with Astro and hosted on FastComet. We use FastComet to provide the infrastructure that serves the website.

Analytics and your choices

Google Analytics is delivered through Google Tag Manager and loads automatically on the public website unless you have opted out in this browser or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. We do not display an automatic analytics approval prompt. Analytics is not required to use the site. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our site configuration.

Use Privacy choices in the footer and choose Turn analytics off to stop subsequent site measurement and clear accessible Google Analytics cookies on this site. Existing opt-outs remain respected. This does not erase information already received by Google. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps analytics off even if a previous site preference enabled it.

We remember your preference in your browser’s local storage until you change it or clear that storage. The preference applies to that browser. When browser storage is blocked, analytics stays off by default; a preference selected through the footer may not persist between pages. Our Google Analytics configuration is intended to measure website use, not completed purchases or affiliate commissions.

See Google’s Privacy Policy for its processing practices. Site analytics controls do not change privacy settings on a third-party site you choose to visit.

Cookies and similar technologies

When analytics is enabled, Google Analytics can use cookies such as _ga and _ga_… to distinguish visits and measure interactions. The analytics preference stored by this site records your choice and its date; it is not an analytics identifier.

Hosting and security services may also use technologies needed to deliver and protect the site, including cookies used to manage security checks. These services operate separately from optional Google Analytics. See the FastComet Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy for their processing practices.

How we use and disclose information

We use information to operate the website, respond to correspondence, investigate errors and protect against misuse. We also use relevant correspondence to review reported inaccuracies in provider information.

Information is processed through the services needed for those activities, including FastComet for hosting, Cloudflare for DNS and website security/delivery, Google for optional analytics, and our email provider for correspondence.

We can also disclose information when required by applicable law or when necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Any such disclosure must be limited to information relevant to the circumstances.

Brand Protection Tools can earn a commission when you purchase software or services through an affiliate link. We do not currently display third-party advertisements.

If you follow a provider or affiliate link, information collected by the destination is governed by that organisation’s privacy and cookie policies. Review those policies before submitting information or purchasing a service.

Our branded /go/bustem/ link redirects through Bustem’s referral service at go.bustem.com, powered by Dub, to a Bustem booking page hosted by iClosed. Following this link can set referral cookies and pass attribution identifiers to those services. Their processing begins when you follow the referral link and is separate from your analytics choice on this site.

How long we keep information

We retain email correspondence for as long as needed to answer the request, resolve follow-up questions and meet relevant legal or recordkeeping needs. The appropriate period depends on the nature of the correspondence and whether an issue remains unresolved.

Our Google Analytics property retains event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. New activity resets the user-data retention period. These controls do not apply to standard aggregated reports. See Google’s data-retention explanation.

Hosting and security providers retain technical information according to their operational, security and legal requirements. Retention varies by the type of record and the service. Their privacy policies describe these practices; the Google Analytics periods above do not apply to hosting or security records.

International processing

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. See the Google Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy for their processing information. Different countries can have different data-protection laws.

Privacy requests

Email [email protected] to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Explain the request without including unnecessary sensitive information.

We will assess requests under applicable law and can ask for information needed to verify your identity. Some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or resolve an outstanding dispute.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, appeal a request decision or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact us to make a request or appeal. We will assess it under applicable law. You can turn off site analytics through Privacy choices without contacting us.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy when our information practices change and revise the date at the top. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
